The show was great! We had a great show and it seemed that all had a good time in spite of the weather. We were so happy to be a part of Urban Market and really hope to be a part of it again! A big thank you to both you and Maura for all the great organization!  Diane Poole
P.S. I love the cabinet I bought from you!

I'm just sick that I was unable to attend (because of the rain). I hope
the event was successful and look forward to the next one.

Thank you so much...
I was there and had a BLAST!!

I went to the urban market last Sunday on my way to the airport- I LOVED IT, in spite of the rain - i will definitely be at the next one and have signed up for email. my question is ' WHERE DO I GET THE RECIPE FOR THE PIMENTO CHEESE !
It was the absolute best
!!!

I LOVED this year's rainy show, by the way. The serious shoppers (like me) came
prepared with rain boots and coats, ready for all that downpour. We LOVED it!!!

shopping in October, rain or shine,
I hope all the vendors did well! When is the next one?

 Frequently Asked Questions
How do I become a dealer at The Urban Market?
Submit your name and information on this site...we will email you a reply, so be sure to watch for it. We like to invite folks who want to have a good day with others in the business...and a laugh or two. We always ask our existing dealers back first...then we add your name to our waiting list and give you a call when space becomes available.

What kinds of goods are you looking for?
We like junk, good junk, and great junk at fabulous prices. Our dealers set aside things for the Urban Market...for "look" or price, all year long.

Do you allow any preview sales before the market opens?
We have taken a pledge to keep an even playing field for everyone, so there is no early bird shopping allowed. On the day of the market, we ask our fans to wait at one of our two entrances....Yale or Heights Blvd...they both open at 10 am.

 Is the Market outside?
Yes, but under tents with drop sides. It is on a paved parking lot that has great irrigation. We have the food guys and gals under a covered area with tables and chairs. But, the sun is always shining in Houston, and when it doesn't no one complains.

 Restrooms
We have found Frank, from First Class Rentals, and I say, "I wouldn't ask my diva dealers to use a toilet I wouldn't". Flowers, fresheners, and individual sinks, it's First Class.

Can I get there early and have a cup of hot coffee?
You bet, Janice Schindeler, Words and Food, along with Mickey from Katz's Coffee, will be there bright and early with great eats but not before the gates open at 10 am. There are tables and chairs around the covered food area.

How do I get that four poster bed home?
We are fortunate to have the services of "Crowded House" (713-861-4224)on our site to accept purchases and set up delivery times at the market. We wouldn't trust anyone else, so shop away!

How do I get information about upcoming events?
We will have an information table set up in the middle of the fair with Market info and other community causes we support. Also, get on our mailing list and be reminded periodically.

What about baby strollers and wheelchairs?
This parking lot is the most easily accessable one in Houston I think. Flat, no dips and easy to navigate. We also have a designated handicapped parking area on the site.

 Cash, Checks and ATM Information
Most dealers will gladly accept cash and checks with ID. There is also a Bank of America ATM on Washington Avenue for your convenience.
